How do I select and modify text box property in Ad - Adobe Support Community - .Add backgrounds to PDFs, Adobe Acrobat

What you are using is not a "text box", it's the "Add Text" tool. The "Text Box" is on the Comments toolbar. You are adding static PDF text. The "Add Text" tool does not have a background color associated with it, because it is not adding anything besides the text you type. Whatever is behind that text will be used as the background for your text - this has never been different in previous releases of Acrobat.

The only difference was that the tool used to be called the TouchUp Text tool. Which version of Acrobat did you use before you moved to Acrobat DC? How did you add text back then? If you were able to configure a background, I assume it was an annotation or comment that you added.

Click on the "Comment" item in the right hand pane, this will bring up a new toolbar:. Use one of the two tools I've marked. The one on the left will not add a box around the text you type, the one on the right will have a box around the text.

For both of them, you can select the background color again, using the properties toolbar as explained before. This will add an annotation or comment , it will not add static PDF text as you can do with the "Add Text" tool.

How to Change the Highlight Color in Adobe Acrobat Reader - Add, replace, or edit a background

I'm glad I could be of service. I wonder if Adobe is aware they are revealing your real email address to me when you comment? Now I can spam you. Would you like to buy a nice shiny airplane?

I have no idea why they thought their end users would not be inclined to format their text color, font, and size, considering in the forum comment tool, they give you all of those abilities right at the adobe acrobat pro dc text box background color free download of the screen.

When you compound the number of users with the amount of time wasted looking for this tool, this little oversight has created hundreds of wasted hours for us. I have been using Acrobat Pro for more than 2 years and while I knew there was a tool which would allow me to modify the font, I could never find it, in spite of searching the help menu and Googling it on multiple occasions.

I even knew what the tool looked like, but I could not figure out how to turn it on because it's not listed as a tool in the "Customize toolbars" menu either. Needlessly frustrating. I did try a search in the Adobe Help menu for "Properties Bar" and it came up with "Add comments in a text box or callout".
